MEET TAIWAN, sponsored by Taiwan Bureau of Foreign Trade and implemented by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), 2016 Asia Super Team has been through two months of online contest and three days of offline contest. During the final press event on October 6th, corporate finalists showed their best performances and competed for championship. PATHUM THANI BREWERY Co., Ltd. from Thailand won and brought back NT$1.5 million of MICE tourism packages.

Corporate finalists from seven countries/regions in Asia participated in several days of offline monopoly and room escape games. After challenges in flexibility, agility, cooperation, creativity and intelligence, contestants put on special costumes with corporate and cultural features, and performed for the championship at the final press event.

Organizers also invited singer Crowd Lu as Asia Super Team ambassador, performed his original song to cheer up everyone, and shared his travel experiences in Taiwan.

“MICE is a new opportunity for Taiwan to expand tourism to ASEAN, South Asia and Northeast Asia,” said a spokesperson from Bureau of Foreign Trade. “We are fully committed to growing our market presence in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia. The integrated marketing at play is expected to attract more business travelers from the region.”

E-sports and offline creative events highlight MICE in Taiwan

To attract more MICE activities to Taiwan from international companies, MEET TAIWAN organizes Asia Super Team since 2014. Over 300 companies across Asia have participated so far.

2016 Asia Super Team: The Almighty Players includes gamification element for the first time. Interactive and entertaining online challenges and offline Monopoly games showcase local MICE features and cultural diversity in Taiwan to contestants. Their experiences will be the best promotion channels for MICE in Taiwan.

China Airlines also sponsor 12 round-trip tickets for online voters. This public-private partnership will elevate MICE brand and opportunities in Taiwan.
